Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (NLT)
Picture this: you're flipping through the pages of life, and everywhere you turn, it's like you're bombarded with this one-size-fits-all mentality. But guess what? You're not cut from the same cookie-cutter mold as everyone else. God has set you apart, and the plans He has for your life surpass anything you could ever imagine.
In order to reach what He has for you however, you have to accept that this world doesn't love you, and it never will — and that's okay, because we are not of it. So ask yourself, why conform to something that only wants to see your demise? Why conform to something that hates you simply because our Messiah decided to choose you out of it?
It's time to renew your mind fam. We're living in a world where trends come and go faster than you can say "hashtag blessed", which is why there's no wisdom in following the herd. When you follow the good Shepherd however, you allow God to transform you into a new person by changing the way you think, which changes the kind of fruit you bear.
God would have us to bear good fruit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The fruits of the Spirit demonstrate the character of a life submitted to God, which happens through faith in our Messiah and obedience to His commandments. In this, we are granted power and strength to serve Him here in this fallen world.
God's will should be our ultimate goal. He desires for you to know His will for your life, which is good and pleasing and perfect — something that the world can never offer you. So be set apart, because this world isn't worth losing your soul over.
With love,
